A balanced score card can be seen as a system that shows the evolution of the basic parameters of the business and presents them in a clear and useful way. This latter point can be extremely complicated, as it should submit only information that is essential, and in an overview and summary. Otherwise, the dashboard will confuse rather than facilitate decision-making.

It is important not to confuse a dashboard solution designed to BAM with a dashboard used in the field of Business Intelligence (BI). The fundamental difference is that in the BAM the information is processed in real time and displayed directly on the dashboard, while in the field of BI information is refreshed periodically.
