Business Activity Monitoring

Monitoring means track one or more activities in a business organization. The objective is that people in the business, such as analysts, consultants and managers, can view real-time information relevant to the activities of their organization.

Later, the results are analyzed and they got a series of conclusions which facilitate the decision-making and allow the organization to position itself to better explore the business opportunities that show up.

Once selected the representative information about the activity of the organization you want to view, this information is associated with a series of business indicators, which are responsible for representing information. These indicators are shown in such a way to be perfectly located and grouped according to their relative importance. This command uses a table or dashboard.

Example:

BAM

Monitoring business activities allow you to identify in real-time, the status of your company, the state of the indicators, identify exceptions, generate alerts and take corrective action and improve the productivity.

What can I get from a Business Activity Monitoring system?

  • Global overview of the company’s parameters, for example expenses and purchases by office/by department/per day/per supplier/or by the parameters required by the user.
  • Graphical representation of indicators and customized searches, presenting information graphically in 2D, 3D, bars, pie etc. leading for a more agile decision making.
  • Reports of associated data with process.
  • Increased control and traceability of the organization’s activities.
  • Real-time reading of BPM system as well as other systems such as ERP or data bases.

By using it, your company can:

  • Visualize in real time, through a dashboard, the status of their Business performance indicators
  • Quickly detect the causes of any impacts on the processes.
  • Obtain the necessary information at any time and place, originating from the contents´ and processes´ engines and external systems.
  • Easily configure indicators and monitor data from BPM or from any other system of the organization. (For example invoice data).
  • Integrate the application with reporting tools and Business Intelligence.
  • Control access by roles and permissions.
  • Access all the Polymita platform capabilities and functionalities.

Where the information comes from?

Indicators that aggregate multiple sources of information can be built easily by the combining several types of data:

  • Process Instances. For example, information about process instance performance.
  • Repository Data, by setting a data provider just by selecting a Dynamic Data Model. This data can be actually managed by Polymita, or being mapped to external data sources (virtual repository).
  • Process Events (BPM Signal and Trigger Monitoring). When a signal or other internal or external event is fed into the BPM platform, this information is logged to allow BAM module retrieve expose it to the business level.
  • Rules Events (BPM Rules Monitoring). Rules execution log information for BAM processing.
  • External Data from Enterprise Systems. Polymita BAM Module can retrieve information from external data sources by querying enterprise systems. This information can be merged with Polymita’s own information to be monitored.
  • Information retrieved by EAI connectors through Business Connectors. Information can be retrieved from other systems actively, for example, from the ERP and fed into the BAM module to be monitored.
  • Data and events actively fed by external systems, like ESB infrastructure or third party software for monitoring purposes.
